Yes – it’s newsletter time – your little catch-up with what’s going on in the world of The Brothers Streep.  This is like when you’ve bumped into a friend in the shops, and you haven’t chatted for a while, so they start filling you in on things that you’re not particularly interested to hear about, but you don’t want to jeopardise your friendship, so you start to find yourself saying things like, “No no no, I’m not in a hurry, please do tell me more about how last week you discovered a tiny bicycle in your Chicken Cordon Bleu.”

Well this is a lot like that.  We’re going to tell you information that you probably didn’t need to know (for example, I ate a doughnut yesterday), and you’re going to read this whilst all the time thinking that you should probably be getting on to more important things (for example, you still need to forward the picture of ‘If Mr. Bean was in Avatar he would look like this’ to all your friends).

First on the newsletter agenda is the fact that we’ve launched a new podcast series.  The series is called The Emergency Podcasting System – if you’ve ever wondered how we come up with names for albums, or ideas for songs, you should find this slightly more interesting that me eating a doughnut.  In this first episode we discuss potential names for the stage show we’re writing – be sure to download the episode and join the conversation here.

Next on the list... we accidently advertised that our appearance on the Graham Norton Show was going to be aired on South African TV next Wednesday.  We have subsequently found out it’s actually due on the 24th March on BBC Entertainment at 22:30.

Finally, these are some upcoming Brothers Streep shows you can look forward to...

13th March (Saturday) – this is the first of a couple of upcoming duo shows at Boo Radley’s in Hout Street.  If you wish to book a table, be sure to phone +27 21 424 3040.

20th March (Saturday) – we’ve only played one show in Stellenbosch before, so we’re quite excited to return, this time with the full band.  The show is at the beautiful Eaglevlei Winery, and we’ll be playing with Captain Stu and Lancaster Band.

23rd March (Tuesday) it’s time to meet up with our good friends K, Ray and the Bird again for a duo show at Die Boer in Durbanville.

27th March (Saturday) – the second Boo Radley’s show.

10th April (Saturday) – the third Boo Radley’s show.

16th April (Saturday) – the full band brings you a show in aid of raising funds for our new album, The Brothers Streep Storytellers at Fogeys.
