The Brothers Streep Storytellers

[ Posted 12 March 2010 in Video by Simon Streep ]

People often ask us how we go about writing our songs.  The answer is simple.  We go to bargain bins in music stores and buy the cheapest albums by the obscurest bands we can find.  We then determine which of the songs are the easiest to play, and we basically steal the song, but change a few lyrics to make the song become about the first thing we saw when we switched on the TV that day.  And if you don’t believe that, then you are wise.

We’re busy preparing for our debut full band album, and we thought a good way to raise funds for the album, would be to put on a once-off intimate show in which we tell you the stories behind our songs.

We even recorded a little promo video for the show...

If you’ve ever wanted to learn a little more about our song writing process, or even if you just want to contribute in some way towards our new album, then come along to Fogeys on the 16th April – it’ll be like watching a VH1 special, except you won’t be able to change the channel when we start playing Moose Boy.

Boy, I must say that video had no resounding overtones derived from Lost, no, none whatsoever, at all, anywhere to be found, no way, nein, nyet, negatory. Thank dog there is no one in the band who resembles Benjamin Linus because then I would be so creeped out I'd never be able to watch/listen to you again!

Well done.

Why, thank you!

And Tim S. Streep, I am appalled you were treated thusly. The heartbreak was palpable.
