Dyl Streep's Rant & Rave: The Office

[ Posted 3 June 2010 in Life by Dylan Streep ]

Just a quick one... People who know me will often say that my sense of humour is very similar to and even copies that of comedy genius Ricky Gervais, and to those people I say; Well... am I copying or is it.. and that's.. so...

The other day, I had the joy of being asked by my boss whether or not I would lend him my DVD Boxset over the weekend so that he could re-watch the magic that is The Office. The following monday we discussed all our favorite scenes and decided once again that it is the most perfect thing to have happened on television. So that's the 'Rave' part of my blog done.

Now for the 'Rant'...I noticed again, as I held the DVD's in my hands, that the back of the box has three little pictures from various scenes. Two of which are harmless. The picture on the extreme right, however, shows the characters Tim and Dawn in a passionate kiss! This is obviously a huge moment from the climax of the Christmas Specials, a moment that everyone is hoping for but doesn't look like is going to happen. Brilliantly handled. Luckily for me, I had already seen the Specials before receiving the Boxset as a gift. But if I hadn't I imagine I would be very angry!

Now obviously I realise that I may be spoiling this moment for anyone who's reading this and has not yet seen the Specials nor the back of the Boxset. But I guess you should've all seen it by now. It is very, very good. Besides, it's not like we're opposed to spoilers here in The Brothers Streep - for example, check out the lyrics to our song 'Bruce Willis is Dead' here.

So yes, as I said, just a quick one, but I guess all I'm getting at is that DVD boxes shouldn't have pictures of crucial scenes from the film or series that they are holding stuck on the back. That's all.

Thanks,

Dyl Streep.

P.S. I have no real educated opinion on The American Office, having only seen one or two episodes. I do, however, remember thinking that they lacked the subtlety that the original did so well... Discuss...

I love the office. I think Season 2 is brilliant. Especially when he does the motivational talk. Also dig the dialogue about the midget, elf and dwarf in season 1 episode 6.

What can I say, this bird is a fan
