The documentary
[ Posted 25 June 2010 in Video by Simon Streep ]If you’re expecting a blog exploring the problem with point of view in the modern day documentary, or a blog critiquing the recent exploitation of the documentary genre in films such as Supersize Me and The March Of The Penguins, unfortunately this blog with be more specific. Way more specific. If you’re expecting a blog with a mini-documentary about the making of the new Brothers Streep album, then you’re in luck.
I promised I’d post a blog about the extra features on our album, and although it’s slightly late, as the saying goes, ‘better late than covered in bovril’, or something like that. So, here’s the slightly shortened YouTube version of the mini-documentary that you can watch on our album. Hope you enjoy...
As the music industry moves to digital downloads and the value of owning a physical copy of an album is diminished, we feel it is our duty to give those that buy our albums value for money. So we put a lot of focus on our album artwork, and we like the idea of packing it with extra features because we’re big fans of extra features on DVDs. If you’re haven’t put your copy of our album into your computer yet, you’re missing out - not only is a longer version of that video on it, but it’s also full of other features, such as directors commentary, cast commentary, production stills, songbooks, podcasts, deleted songs and more.
Click here to find out how you can order this album with all it’s extra features...

25 June 2010Oh and in case you're wondering why this video is shorter than the one on the album, it's because YouTube doesn't allow clips which are longer than 10 minutes. No fun. I had to cut it short and leave out the bits with our guest musicians and the band members expressing their favourite songs. If you're interested, I chose My Pirate Friends And Me and Board Games. Now you know!
