The New Adventures of The Brothers Streep #14

[ Posted 16 July 2010 in Newsletters by Simon Streep ]

It’s only a couple of days until we head off to the UK to perform a few gigs in London before our run of shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, or Edinburgh Comedy Festival, or the Edinburgh Music Festival, or that Edinburgh thing that seems to have different names depending on what website you visit.  Before we leave though, we’ve got a couple of things you can look forward to...

First up, if you tune into SAFM (104 -107) today at 2:30pm you’ll be able to hear us talking about our new album, Suitable For The Whole Family, as well as the upcoming tour.  (If you missed our interview on KFM last Friday, you can download that here.)

Then this coming Monday (19th July) we’ll be playing our last show in Cape Town for 2 months, so if you want to get your final dose of Streep before we leave, the Brothers Streep Farewell Show starts 8pm at The Barleycorn (11 Lansdowne Rd, Claremont).  We’ll also be selling our album on the night, so bring an extra R100 if you think you won’t be able to survive two months without hearing our nonsense.

The day after our farewell show is when we depart, and the day after that we arrive in London.  If you’ll be round Heathrow on the 21st July, look out for two men in suits carrying guitars and looking excited, lost and hungry for Burger King.

Currently we have two shows set up in London.  We’ll be playing a full set at The Halfmoon in Putney on 28th July, and then we’ll playing a short little set at the variety night at The Cavendish Arms in Stockwell on 29th July.

Our Edinburgh Fringe shows kick off on the 4th August and run till the end of the month.  Special thanks to Springfree Trampoline for sponsoring these shows, and special thanks to EdCom for putting everything together.  We’re also really excited to be playing at Chortle’s Fast Fringe, a sort of ‘best of the Fringe’ show hosted by Fred MacAulay and featuring comedians from all over the world – including Stiffler’s mom from American Pie, oh yes, Stiffler’s mom.  Wonder if she has a real name?

Be sure to keep watching our blog for our UK tour diary, and you can follow us on Twitter and Facebook to stay up to date with all the latest info.
