Armchairs, Christmas in July, MK live award and more…
[ Posted 18 January 2012 in Newsletters by Simon Streep ]
We’ve just realised we have a newsletter, so we’re going to attempt to keep you up to date until we forget about the newsletter again. Much like Kim Kardashians’ wedding, this might be rather short lived. Unlike her wedding, this probably won’t make the tabloids. Not even on a slow week would The Voice ever publish, ‘Brothers Streep Remember They Have A Newsletter’. It’s hard when you’re competing with things like ‘Priest Says Elvis Speaks Through My Cucumber’ or something like that.
This Friday (20 January 2012) the Brothers Streep duo will be performing at Armchair Acoustics at the Armchair Theatre (135 Lower Main Road, Observatory) in Cape Town. R30 will get you in, and we’re playing with Johnny Bud and Jon Shaban – you can check out the FB event here.
Also this Friday, we’ll hopefully be broadcasting our weekly radio show (The Brothers Streep Show) live from the Name Your Hood Launch at La Bottega in Woodstock. If you’re in the area, be sure to pop by and shout song suggestions at us. We’ll feel free to ignore the ones by ABBA.

It seems there were a lot of unhappy people this Christmas because their loved ones, friends or family members, just didn’t remember to put a copy of our album in their stocking. Thank heavens someone started the ridiculous notion of Christmas in July. This should give people 6 months to rectify their mistakes. You can order our album online through Look & Listen, Kalahari or Takealot – we recommend you get those orders in early!
In other news, MK have this 'Best Live Act' award, and we reckon this year it should really go to a band which is well known for playing fake instruments, so if you’d like to help us out, please click here and vote for us on their Facebook page. (If you don’t know what Facebook is, it’s a lot like Google +, except people actually use it.)
Lastly, well done to everyone who has been successfully recognising us in our DStv advert - if you’re keen to read the lyrics and download the song for free, you can do so by visiting this blog.
Have a great week, we’ll see you for the next newsletter later in the month, or year, or decade, or when Milli Vanilli resurrects the member that died and re-group to much acclaim.
