The New Adventures of The Brothers Streep #14
[ Posted 16 July 2010 in Newsletters by Simon Streep ]It’s only a couple of days until we head off to the UK to perform a few gigs in London before our run of shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, or Edinburgh Comedy Festival, or the Edinburgh Music Festival, or that Edinburgh thing that seems to have different names depending on what website you visit. Before we leave though, we’ve got a couple of things you can look forward to...

[ Posted 1 June 2010 in Newsletters by Simon Streep ]Four years ago we went to the Nassau Theatre to launch our debut album, It Couldn’t Have Been Miss Scarlett, She Was With Us At The Time... now we’re headed back there on the 19th June to launch our first full band album...

[ Posted 19 May 2010 in Newsletters by Simon Streep ]Things are still very busy here in Streepville – which is sort of ironic, because according to the Internet, Streepville is a coal mining ghost town, so I don’t see it being very busy there at all. Anyways, we’ve hardly had enough time to record our weekly podcasts or even brush our teeth, but before you think we’ve fallen off the planet, I’ll quickly update you with some upcoming Streep gigs...

[ Posted 28 April 2010 in Newsletters by Simon Streep ]It’s been about a month since our last update, so we’ve probably got a lot to catch you up with. But first... hello, how are you? Hows work going? Still having troubles with the boss? Haha – tell me about it! And the family? Well, I’m glad to hear there has been a silver lining. You want to know how things are going with the Brothers Streep? Sure thing, I’ll tell you...

[ Posted 23 March 2010 in Newsletters by Simon Streep ]We don’t really have any good news to deliver in this week’s newsletter. I think we peaked too soon last week. News of our trip to the UK was too high on the good newsometer. We’re going to have to have a week of bad news to make up for all the recent goodness... so... let’s begin...

[ Posted 16 March 2010 in Newsletters by Simon Streep ]Alright. It’s official. We have booked our flights. On the 21st of July we’ll be arriving in London with our guitars, ready to play some shows in the UK. The finer details of this mini-tour are still being finalised, and all will be revealed at a later stage, but for now, United Kingdom, if you’re reading this... we are coming. Be sure to put the kettle on.

[ Posted 9 March 2010 in Newsletters by Simon Streep ]Yes – it’s newsletter time – your little catch-up with what’s going on in the world of The Brothers Streep. This is like when you’ve bumped into a friend in the shops, and you haven’t chatted for a while, so they start filling you in on things that you’re not particularly interested to hear about, but you don’t want to jeopardise your friendship, so you start to find yourself saying things like, “No no no, I’m not in a hurry, please do tell me more about how last week you discovered a tiny bicycle in your Chicken Cordon Bleu.”

[ Posted 23 February 2010 in Newsletters by Simon Streep ]Despite massive advances in technology over the past few years, I find it strange that we don’t seem to have improved the toaster. Most appliances are fairly effective in carrying out the tasks they were designed for, but the toaster is a bit hit and miss. It’s troubling to me that you have to keep an eye on your toast because sometimes it’s just going to burn for no particularly good reason. I also find it strange that the toaster has settings that no man in their right mind would ever want. If my toast sometimes burns when it is on 4, why on earth would I ever choose 6? Maybe I just have a bad toaster.

[ Posted 17 February 2010 in Newsletters by Simon Streep ]Dylan and I had a meeting in town today, so whilst we were in the area we decided to have a quick game of Putt Putt. My levels of co-ordination were at an all time high in the first half of the game, beating Dyl by one in the front nine.
My unprecedented success unbalanced the universe for a bit, and for a while, the very essence of life as we know it began to fall apart. Jamie Oliver began speaking without a lisp, Jacob Zuma vowed to live a life of monogamy, and Oprah Winfrey decided someone else could be on the front cover of O Magazine. Fortunately, in the back nine, I dropped enough shots to be beaten by seven, and the universe was restored to its usual form.
