Hello COSMO

[ Posted 22 November 2011 in Streep by Simon Streep ]

We survived our first COSMO interview without having to reveal our hair, make-up and summer dresses tips.  If you’d like to read the full article it’s in their December issue (pg 78) which is on sale now.

Q&A with The Brothers Streep

[ Posted 12 October 2011 in Streep by Simon Streep ]

On Sunday we risked melting in severe heat, and played Rocking The Daisies to a great crowd who somehow managed to avoid spontaneously bursting into flames in the incredibly hot Lemon Tree Theatre.  But before all this took place, we sat down and answered some questions for the Rocking The Daisies magazine, and we thought you might like to read them…

We’re proud to officially announce that next week Friday 26 August we begin our very own show on 2oceansvibe Radio.  We’ve been recording podcasts for over four years now, and the time has finally come to take our musings into the world of live radio.

Folk Rocking The Suburbs

[ Posted 23 June 2011 in Streep by Simon Streep ]

We’re almost a week away from next show, which means that if you haven’t seen us play before, you only have just over a week to learn our songs – because yes, we do expect a certain amount of singing along.  And if you can’t sing... then well, we guess in that case you have just over a week to practise clapping in time.

Eye To Eye (free song download)

[ Posted 17 June 2011 in Streep by Simon Streep ]

Some of the best songs are from adverts.  Who can forget such classics such as ‘Simunye – we are one’, ‘Take me to the canyon, where the secret tribe lives’, or even ‘When the sun shines bright, shines with all its' might, that’s when raindrops turn to jelly tots’.  So when we were asked to write a song for the new Geely ad, we jumped at the opportunity...

We're Never Going To Be (SA Idols)

[ Posted 5 June 2011 in Streep by Simon Streep ]

In the past we’ve been known as ‘those guys who did that thing on the Graham Norton Show’, or ‘those guys who did that thing about Steri Stumpies’ – but now, for the next while... we’re proud to be ‘those guys who did that thing for Idols’.

Our new single is finally out, and you can download it for free right now by clicking here.  If you do download it, all we ask is that you share the link with someone else – or, better yet, we ask that you contact your favourite radio station and ask them to play it – every little bit helps.  We hope you enjoy...

One Small Seed Review

[ Posted 27 May 2011 in Streep by Simon Streep ]

If you turn to page 103 of the latest issue of One Small Seed, you'll be able to read a review of our album, Suitable For The Whole Family.  Of course, there's a big chance you don't have your copy of One Small Seed yet, so if that's the case, don't worry, we'll risk copyright infringment and include the review here...

El Pistolos Streepos Amigos

[ Posted 9 May 2011 in Streep by Simon Streep ]

The other day we got an email from Mexico from someone called Nancy.  Nancy isn’t an incredibly Mexican name, but my surname is Afrikaans and I’ve never been to sokkie or worn socks so high that they're dangerously close to being reclassified as pants, so clearly name’s aren’t to be trusted.

The Easter Bunny

[ Posted 21 April 2011 in Streep by Simon Streep ]

I remember quite clearly thinking that the Easter Bunny lived under a tree stump in the sandpit of my pre-primary school. I’m not entirely too sure what convinced me that this was true, but despite a general lack of evidence, I began a mission to dig up the tree stump, in what I trust was misguided hope for chocolate, rather than the young desire to burgle someone.

W.H.J.D. (free song download)

[ Posted 14 April 2011 in Streep by Simon Streep ]

It’s hard not to like Noot vir Noot.  It’s the only programme I’ve ever watched where contestants are expected to somehow guess songs from only hearing the first note of the tune in question.  Not even the world’s most musical clairvoyant would be able to manage such a thing, but somehow the guests seem to get it right.  Probably because every song seems to be Sexy Eyes.
