The Brothers Streep UK Tour Diary #1
[ Posted 4 days 12 hr ago in Streep by Simon Streep ]It’s the first instalment of our tour diary, brought to you by Springfree Trampoline. This week’s diary will cover our trip from Cape Town to London, and our experiences in the outskirts of London and central London itself.
If you need us, we’ll be in London!
[ Posted 22 July 2010 in Streep by Simon Streep ]For all those who haven’t really been following what we’ve been talking about the last few months, we’ve left the comfort of Cape Town, and have missioned off to London where we’ll be playing a few gigs before making our way to Scotland to play the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
The Brothers Streep on SAFM
[ Posted 20 July 2010 in Streep by Simon Streep ]As promised, if you missed our interview on SAFM last Friday, you can download it now by clicking here. Besides chatting about the obvious things, we managed to sneak in conversations about tea, vampires and Cinderella. We were even called ‘idiots’ – which to be fair, was meant playfully, and was also quite apt considering this was after Dyl started whistling the Glen Tea jingle.
The Brothers Streep on KFM: The Sequel
[ Posted 15 July 2010 in Streep by Simon Streep ]In case you missed our interview with Richard Hardiman on KFM last week Friday, you can download the full interview here. And if you enjoyed that, then be sure to tune into SAFM tomorrow at 2:30pm because we’ll be flexing our radio muscles again on their afternoon show.
Goodbye Mr Hardiman
[ Posted 9 July 2010 in Streep by Simon Streep ]It’s Richard Hardiman’s last day at KFM and we’ve just had the privilege of spending some of that last day with him. Thanks Rich! We’ll try post the full interview later, but for now, in case you missed it, click here to download the special song we wrote for the occasion.
An Album Launch Photo
[ Posted 23 June 2010 in Streep by Simon Streep ]On Monday I promised that today you’d be able to see some photos from the launch for those that missed out but still wanted to see some of the fun. Unfortunately, I’ve got loads of photos to go through, and I’m struggling to select and edit the best photos to put up on the blog. So, I’ve decided to extend my deadline (considering it was self inflicted I’m sure I have the power to do that), and rather, I’ll show you my favourite photo from the launch.
Suitable For The Whole Family – Debut Full Band Album Out Now
[ Posted 21 June 2010 in Streep by Simon Streep ]We’re proud to announce that our debut full band album, Suitable For The Whole Family, has finally been released! Launched on the 19th June 2010 at the Nassau Theatre, this album is our first professionally recorded album and it contains all our favourite songs from the past five years of being a band – covering topics from the global economy crisis, to animal’s rights, Disney princesses, shopping express queues, Anna Paquin, evil pirate captains and more, we feel there’s something for everyone, or at least something for everyone with a bit of a sense of humour.
Behind the Streep: The Brothers in Studio
[ Posted 6 May 2010 in Streep by Simon Streep ]As promised, we thought it would be good to keep you up to date on behind the scenes of the recording for our debut full band album. Now I know some of you were hoping for exclusive documentary footage of this truly creative process, but despite being extremely keen, Richard Attenborough unfortunately had other commitments.
Dyl Streep's Rant & Rave: 'The Vlei-bourhood'
[ Posted 7 April 2010 in Streep by Dylan Streep ]Remember missioning out to Rondevlei with your Gran to see if you could spot all the birds on that little laminated sheet they gave you when you entered? And trying to spot that elusive hippo (Hippopotamus amphibius) from the little wooden hides? No? Well I do. And it was awesome! I don't think I actually ever did spot all the different ones but I'm sure my Gran told me that I did. Ah - such fond memories. And right across from Rondevlei is Zeekoevlei, the expanse of water about which I am going to 'rave' - or rather the people who live around there, the people of 'the Vlei-bourhood'.
