Only Bath For You

[ Posted 14 July 2010 in Video by Simon Streep ]

A while back I realised that I only tended to bath or shower if I was going to be seeing my girlfriend that day.  We broke up ages ago, and now I haven’t actually bathed or showered for a good two years.

The documentary

[ Posted 25 June 2010 in Video by Simon Streep ]

If you’re expecting a blog exploring the problem with point of view in the modern day documentary, or a blog critiquing the recent exploitation of the documentary genre in films such as Supersize Me and The March Of The Penguins, unfortunately this blog with be more specific.  Way more specific.  If you’re expecting a blog with a mini-documentary about the making of the new Brothers Streep album, then you’re in luck.

Piracy

[ Posted 22 June 2010 in Video by Simon Streep ]

Piracy causes millions of artists to go bankrupt everyday.  And by bankrupt I simply mean that they probably won’t be able to tip their limo drivers in diamonds anymore.  And if this thought doesn’t anger you, then your soul is probably broken, and you’re more than likely currently downloading a new one on uTorrent.

Dyl Streep's Air-Tribute To Muse

[ Posted 21 April 2010 in Video by Dylan Streep ]

I know this post doesn't fit the regular 'Rant & Rave' format, but sometimes when one has the extreme privelage of managing to book tickets to see one's favorite band live, one has to make exceptions.

The Fun Pope

[ Posted 9 April 2010 in Video by Simon Streep ]

If you take a pillow and angle it on your head in the correct fashion, you can make yourself look like a member of the Vatican.  Granted, you might find it hard to convince members of the clergy that you’re a genuine bishop, but if it means learning people’s secrets in confessional booths and getting free bottles of communion wine, then it’s certainly worth a try.

SharkMan (aka Hammerhead)

[ Posted 30 March 2010 in Video by Simon Streep ]

In 2005, film history was made when Ken Badish and Boaz Davidson teamed forces to add yet another film to their much loved ‘Man’ series, which consists of hits such as PredatorMan (aka Alien Lockdown), MorphMan (aka Larva), MosquitoMan (aka Mansquito) and SnakeMan (aka The Snake King).  There is also SkeletonMan, and although it involved Boaz, it sadly lacked the subtle touches of Ken.  There is obviously also Batman, Spiderman, Superman and a host of other ‘Man’ films, but do not be fooled by their misleading titles, they do not fall part of the official ‘Man’ series.

The Brothers Streep Storytellers

[ Posted 12 March 2010 in Video by Simon Streep ]

People often ask us how we go about writing our songs.  The answer is simple.  We go to bargain bins in music stores and buy the cheapest albums by the obscurest bands we can find.  We then determine which of the songs are the easiest to play, and we basically steal the song, but change a few lyrics to make the song become about the first thing we saw when we switched on the TV that day.  And if you don’t believe that, then you are wise.

If Disney Had Made King Kong

[ Posted 4 March 2010 in Video by Simon Streep ]

A few years ago Dylan and I made the mistake of renting King Kong – a movie which is surprisingly dull for a film which won Oscars and incorporates dinosaurs and a giant ape.

The Other Musical Adventures of The Brothers Streep #1

[ Posted 3 February 2010 in Video by Simon Streep ]

Everyone has skeletons in their closet.  Metaphorically of course.  People that do actually have skeletons, tend to keep them in the basement.  I’m basing this observation purely on Norman Bates from Psycho, and not on any real life experience.  I don’t have a basement.

Anyways, all the members of the Brothers Streep have been involved in various other musical projects which might be viewed by others as ‘skeletons’ in our past.  This however would be an unfair judgement, as we all know the world was a better place when Would You Like Some Curry? was around, and when El Pistolos Streepos Amigos were gigging regularly.
