This is an anthem for all those who are feeling irritated
when they’re standing with shopping close to one who’s over catered
Let this be your mantra when you’re stuck in the line
if they’ve got too much Fanta and you have no time

Just tap them on the shoulder and sing

Ten means ten and less means less
it’s simple logic and arithmetic
Eleven and twelve they just won’t do
so take your twenty seven items and get out the express queue

You are an abomination against humanity
I see you’ve bought today’s paper so I know you can read
Seems it doesn’t suit you obeying the sign
and you might call me petty, but you’re committing petty crime

I’ll just tap you on the shoulder and sing

Ten means ten and less means less
I am one step away from a civil arrest
Unless you’re rushing ‘cause your pregnant wife is due
take your twenty seven items and get out the express

Queues should have more categories, so I’m suggesting these
to help with few groceries, consider these please
A queue for grannies, mothers and their babies
a queue for loud talking teens, and a queue for just me

Ten means ten and less means less
Ten means ten and less means less
Ten means ten and less means less
Ten means ten and less means less

Ten means ten and less means less
If you start paying in change I will not be impressed
Or if you’re paying by card you better pray it goes through
take your twenty seven items and get out the express

All I’ve got is milk and bread
but you could fill the pantry and the shed, whoa oh oh
Ten means ten and less means less
so take your twenty seven items and get out the express queue
