The Emergency Podcasting System
Welcome to our new series of podcasts which invites you into the creative processes of The Brothers Streep.
- Episode One (8 March 2010)
- In this first episode, we discuss potential names for an upcoming stage show that we’ve begun to work on for later this year.
Once Offs
Every now and again you have to record a podcast to mark a special occasion, or simply because you’ve made yourself a cup of tea and you feel like recording a podcast. This is the section where you can find all the podcasts we’ve done which don’t fit into any particular series.
- The Brothers Streep present The Greatest Movies Of All Time (2009)
- Dylan and Simon discuss the top movies according to IMDB and lament that Sharkman wasn’t one of them.
- Christmas Podcast Special (2009)
- In the spirit of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, the brothers discuss Christmas past, present, and future – except without the ghosts.
- New Years Podcast Special (2009)
- The Brothers Streep suggest the best and worst ways you can spend New Years.
- Valentine’s Day Special (2010)
- Where did Valentine’s Day start? Who was Valentine? What is the ideal Valentine’s Day gift? All these things are not covered in this Valentine’s Day Special.
Streep's Company Too
Unable to afford the rights to Three’s Company, Dylan and Simon pretend to watch Three’s Company and discuss what’s on their mind.
- Episode One (8th June 2009)
- Episode Two (13th June 2009)
- Dylan and Simon discuss school stationery, snakes and ladders, and the questionable existence of Streep fan, Tam Tam MacTamalams.
- Episode Three (24th June 2009)
- Skeleton keys, tree men and Streep dreams, Dylan and Simon converse about this and more in this week’s episode.
- Episode Four (7th July 2009)
- A good ten minutes is used to discuss just how bad Transformers 2 is, and the rest of the time is spent talking about Narnia and bad army management.
- Episode Five (20th July 2009)
- The birthday edition – containing birthday poems, news from Whistable, Macintosh troubleshooting, late-night quiz TV advice and a few seconds about a coke can which may or may not dance.
- Episode Six (29th July 2009)
- In this week’s episode we explain why rock beats scissors, the many capabilities of a coke bottle filled with water, and we even invent the word Blackanese – a term used to describe a black Chinese person. (Or at least we thought we invented the word, much to our dismay that word already exists.)
- Episode Seven (18th August 2009)
- This edition includes a special appearance from someone from the future. We know, it sounds unlikely, but the podcast never lies.
- Episode Eight (1st September 2009)
- Our eighth episode extravaganza includes the happiest thing on the internet, a trip into Streep space, and a directors commentary for the Steri Stumpie Song video.
- Episode Nine (11th September 2009)
- The Brothers Streep try to answer some of life’s toughest questions, and also happen to present two great ideas involving urination.
- Episode Ten (23rd September 2009)
- And the winner is... we finally announce the winner of our song ideas competition and debut an exclusive recording of our new song. We also welcome Andrew Kerr’s dad.
- Episode Eleven (18th October 2009)
- In this episode we discuss the Anna Paquin song on the Graham Norton Show, bed breaking, toe bruising and of course, cat swinging.
- Episode Twelve (29th October 2009)
- It’s the last episode of this season of Streep’s Company Too in which we chat about our interview on UCT Radio and spend some time discussing Dylan’s school gang – although it’s debatable whether you can call it that.
Tankcast Archive
Remember the days of just hanging out playing Nintendo? In 2007, we got together, set up some mics and played Battle City, and recorded a series of ten... but ended up being eight... podcasts, for our own enjoyment, and to give a little joy to the millions, or rather five people, that listened to them. This rather raw series is what inspired our current series of podcasts, and much of our onstage material. For nostalgia’s sake, here are the ten... but ended up being eight... episodes. Enjoy.
