Welcome to South Africa. A country where your power can go off any second due to our public electricity utility, Eskom. Luckily this comedy song will take the edge off these times of crisis.

Noteworthy mentions:

  • We considered keeping the majority of this video completely black, but we weren’t quite sure if people would think it’s intentional or not.
  • Even though this video was released in early 2019 after a few run ins of unexpected loadshedding, the song was written and first performed in the height of Eskom’s issues back in 2015. It was a weird feeling secretly hoping Eskom would start failing again just so we could release the video.
  • This is one of the few Brothers Streep songs to contain distorted electric guitar.
  • The books Simon reads are Mark Kermode’s How Does It Feel, James Acaster’s Classic Scrapes, Richard Herring’s Emergency Questions and lastly The Mighty Book of Boosh.
  • This music video was recorded on an iPhone XR.
